Put all things to the test keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil.
1 Th 5:21 – 22
We, as a nation, are facing a significant milestone in our life: the national and local elections on May 14, 2007. Large preparations are on the go for the major event. The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), as part of the structure of the Church as an organization mandated by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for voter’s education and poll watching, has requested for the collaboration of the ECY for a more concerted effort for this may 2007 polls.
Faithful to the Gospel, the chairman of the Episcopal Commission on Youth (ECY), Bishop Joel Z. Baylon in his letter challenges us to encourage our young people to be involved in social transformation especially in election-related through education and formation.
In all these, as we maintain a vigilant spirit and as we continue to watch and pray, the Ministry for Youth Affairs invites you and your youth to put up together an active part in a youth gathering on May 13, 2007 at Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Parish, 2024 Calamba cor Instruccion St., Sampaloc, Manila on the eve of the elections. Please find the schedule of activity below:
5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – TALAKAYAN KABATAAN
SA HALALAN
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION and LIGHT A CANDLE FOR HOPE
(It will be brought to us live through RADIO VERITAS 846) |
Journeying with the youth with the same conviction, let us pool our efforts and participate in the Holy Mass in a spirit of humble supplication and intercession. As we light our candle at home, parish, and group may this be a symbol of our intense and vigilant desire to dispel the darkness of error and deception and to let truth and charity shine in through our nation.
In Jesus’ love,
REV. FR. RUFINO C.SESCON, JR.
Minister
