I offer my sincerest greeting to the clergy and the faithful of the Diocese of Balanga as you celebrate the installation of your new bishop, Most Rev. Socrates B. Villegas, D.D.

The Lord said to Jeremiah (3:15): I will appoint over you shepherds after my own heart, who will shepherd you wisely and prudently. The Lord remains faithful to this promise by choosing ministers to lead his church on the road of faith and love – ministers unlike the leaders of this world but after the heart of the master, the Good Shepherd. Bishop Soc is the best bishop for the work of the church in Balanga for his heart is after the heart of the Good Shepherd. Ang kanyang PUSO ay tunay na PUSO ng Mabuting Pastol:

P – praying Heart

U – understanding Heart

S – sincere Heart

O – open Heart

Doctors say that the size of our fist is the size of our heart. In the case of Bishop Soc, his heart is seven times bigger than his fist. His heart embraces all for his heart is the heart of Jesus – the heart of a Shepherd.

Thank you for all the love and support you gave me when I was with you. I pray and I know that you will also give the best to your new shepherd Bishop Soc.

May you continue to enjoy the fatherly protection of St. Joseph and the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
