Tonel, chair of the Episcopal Commission on Liturgy of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP-ECL) ose attending the Venerable Pope Paul VI Conference held on October 17, 2014 at the San Carlos Seminary, Makati City. The conference paid tribute to the Pope who steered the Church through Vatican II and instituted the reforms that flowed out of the council, and who was beatified by Pope Francis on October 19, at the closing of the ExtraOrdinary Assembly of Bishops for the Synod on the Family at the Vatican.
