DECREE

Circular  No. 2013-21

June 27, 2013

TO:
ALL CLERGY, RELIGIOUS MEN AND WOMEN AND LITURGY COORDINATORS IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF MANILA

RE:
INCLUSION OF ST. JOSEPH TO THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYERS II, III IV;
CONSECRATION OF THE PHILIPPINES TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY EVERY FIRST SATURDAY

Dear brother Priests and Sisters,

We are pleased to inform you of the following liturgical updates:

1. The Congregation of Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments has given the instruction that the name of St. Joseph now be included in Eucharistic Prayers II, III and IV.  For unity in practice we are providing you the English and Tagalog texts. This    practice is to be implemented in the Archdiocese of Manila starting July 1, 2103.

2. The National Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which was decreed by the Bishops of the Philippines during their January 2013 plenary assembly, and was done on June 8, 2013, is to be renewed every first Saturday of the month. This Act of Entrustment to our Blessed Mother is part of our observance of the Year of Faith and of the nine-year preparation towards 2021,  the 500th  anniversary of the arrival of the Christian Faith to our land in 1521.

On first Saturdays, when the liturgical day allows it, please use the same liturgy texts that were sent to you for the National Consecration on June 8, 2013.  If the liturgical day does not allow it, the Act of Consecration may be prayed after Holy Communion.

I extend to you my deep gratitude for the constant support you lend for the promotion of the liturgical life of the Church. We entrust ourselves and our ministry to the powerful intercessions of the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

(signed)
