Archdiocesan Ecology Desk reflects on caring for God’s creation on Dec. 3
The Archdiocese of Manila Ecology Desk ended the Year of the Eucharist and Mary with a whole day of reflection with the theme “Eucharist and Caring for God’s Creation” on December 3 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Minor Seminary, EDSA, Guadalupe, Makati City from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The reflections were guided by Fr. John Leydon, MSSC, founder of Center Ecozoic Learning and living in Silang, Cavite and the parish priest of Our Lady of Remedies in Malate.
The session focused on the mainstreaming ecological concerns of the Archdiocese with the Vision Statement of the Archdiocese.
Registration started at 8 a.m., followed by the welcome message of Fr. Rico Garcia, Rector of Our Lady of Guadalupe Minor Seminary. The whole day affair was culminated with a Concelebrated Ecological Eucharistic Celebration at 4 p.m. presided by Fr. Benny B. Tuazon, head of the Archdiocese of Manila Ecology desk.
The speakers were: Fr. Benny B. Tuazon (Archdiocese of Manila Ecology Desk Mandate – Objectives/Goals for the day), Lou V. Arsenio (Fullness of Life – Archdiocesan Vision and the Care for Creation and Genuine Progress Index and Ecological Footprint), Fr. John Leydon, MSSC (New Story of Creation and The Eucharist and Caring for Creation), Beau Bacungis (Solid Waste Management Situation in Metro Manila / Country) and Andy Dayao (Taped Lecture on Ecology of Archbishop Gaudencio Rosales).
There were open forum, workshop and confession during the day.
A registration fee of P300.00 per participant was collected for the snacks, lunch and maintenance of the place.
