CARDINAL ROSALES ATTENDS CONSISTORY

Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Cardinal Rosales leaves on November 21 to attend the Consistory for new Cardinals in Rome. He was originally scheduled to leave earlier for the meeting of the Pontifical Council on Interreligious Dialogue but this was cancelled because of the Consistory. Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal is also slated to attend the Consistory.

The schedule of activities for the Consistory is a follows:

Nov. 23 - day of reflection and prayer of the College of Cardinals and the new Cardinals with the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI

Nov. 24 - ordinary public consistory

Nov. 25 - concelebrated Mass for the Solemnity of Christ the King. After the Mass, the members of the College of Cardinals will have lunch with the Holy Father.

Before returning to the Philippines Cardinal Rosales will go on a pilgrimage to a Marian Shrine. He will be back on Nov. 29.
