CARDINAL ROSALES LIFTS ORATIO IMPERATA

Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Cardinal Rosales has lifted the Oratio Imperata Ad Petendam Pluviam (Obligatory Prayer to Request for Rain). In a circular dated August 15, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Cardinal Rosales cited the pronouncement by the weather agency of the end of the dry spell and the arrival of the rainy season.

The Cardinal issued the Oratio on August 1 amid the looming continued dry spell that the weather bureau had forecast and the power and water shortage that it could bring about.
