Celebrating LIFE:
POPE JOHN PAUL II NFP CENTER turns 2

May 28, 2007 marks the 2 nd year anniversary of Pope John Paul II Natural Family Planning Center. With its dedicated NFP teacher volunteers, the center was able to serve thousands of couples in the Archdiocese of Manila from May 2005-May 2007.

Married couples who have valid reasons for postponing pregnancy, came to the center for consultation and follow-up. They somehow found relief in knowing that the Catholic Church has provided a place where they can go to and find help. Some couples who have discovered the new way of life through natural family planning said it has helped them become more loving and considerate to each other. There were lots of surprises for couples as they become aware of their own fertility, things they never knew before. They feel more empowered knowing that they have the capacity and capability to discipline themselves and express their love in other creative ways.

The practice if NFP has also helped women discover earlier any abnormalities in their reproductive system. This enabled them to consult their OB-gynecologist for immediate treatment. There were instances when they were able to detect early stages of cervical cancer. Several women had their IUD’s removed upon knowing the harm that these devices can do their bodies and to their babies (abortifacient effect of IUD).

The JP2 NFP Center also catered to the needs of several priests and nuns who find the need to know more about NFP so that they can better explain this way of life to the couples they minister to. Students found themselves a place where they could do their research work and get resource speakers.

The good Lord has blessed JP2 NFP center with committed couples who have given their time, talent and even treasures for the past two years as volunteer NFP teachers.

We are truly grateful to these men and women who learned, practiced and lived out NFP and are now sharing the “good news” they have found with other couples who could benefit from this “treasure” God has given us.

JP2 NFP Center continues to respond to God’s call of bringing families back to His original plan for them. it brings God’s message of love and life to every family.

There is a better way we can follow God’s call to be responsible co-creators, to be responsible parents! Praise be to God!!!
