Episcopal ordination of Msgr. De Leon
set on Sept. 1

Monsignor Francis De Leon will be ordained to the episcopacy on September 1, 2007 at 9 a.m. at the Manila Cathedral. Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Cardinal Rosales will be the ordaining prelate.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed Msgr. De Leon auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Antipolo and the titular Diocese of Boseta on June 27, 2007. At the time of his appointment he was rector of the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Mandaluyong City. He also served as rector of the San Carlos Seminary of the Archdiocese of Manila and the St. Andrew Parish in Makati City.

The Diocese of Antipolo led by Bishop Gabriel Reyes will welcome Msgr. De Leon on September 8, 2007 at the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish church.
