Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, D.D. called on the faithful to follow and imitate the humility of Christ that is willing to suffer with the people that are insulted and tormented.

he said.

Cardinal Tagle made this call during his homily at the Palm Sunday Mass held at the Manila Cathedral which ushers the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

Also in his homily, the Manila Archbishop asked the faithful to make the occasion an opportunity to know Christ deeply. He encouraged the believers to accept Christ who is often seen in the presence of the poor and the afflicted.

Tagle also reminded the people of Christ’s great love when He willingly accepted all the injuries and insults thrown against Him. Despite being the son of God, He chose to be a man and saved mankind from sins when He suffered and died on the cross.

(Jheng Manalang Prado/RCAM-AOC)
