Youth Festival Kicks Off Vocation
Campaign
An overnight festival for the youth will highlight the launch
of the vocation campaign of the Archdiocese of Manila and
its suffragan dioceses of Parañaque, Novaliches, Pasig,
Cubao and Kalookan on September 13 to 14 at the Our Lady of
Guadalupe Minor Seminary, Edsa, Guadalupe, Makati City.
The festival aims to attract young people to search their vocation in
life and to be open to the vocation to the priesthood or religious life.
Father Rolando Agustin, director of the Directors of Vocations in the
Philippines-Greater Manila Area (DVP-GMA), says that the youth gathering
adheres to the “paradigm shift” that arise from the challenges
of modern society.
Youth groups from parishes and schools in the archdiocese and suffragan
dioceses are expected to come to the festival, which starts at 6 p.m.
on Sept. 13. Fr. Agustin says that the activities “will enable to
articulate their needs, desires and faith experiences in the light of
the unchanging vocational challenge to every Christian “to follow
Jesus.”
The overnight activities will include talks, sharing, creative presentations
from the youth, and a midnight to dawn musical jamming. The
festival ends with the celebration of the Eucharist at 4 a.m.
