Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima Visits
Manila Parishes
The
pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima has begun its visit
of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Manila. It’s
first stop was at Sto. Niño in Tondo in the Manila
ecclesiastical district. Once all the parishes in this district
have been visited, the pilgrim image will proceed to the
ecclesiastical district of Kalookan-Malabon-Navotas.
Special prayer service has been composed by the Archdiocesan
Liturgical Commission to accompany the visit of the Pilgrim
image in each parish.
The pilgrim image is an original work crafted by a sculptor
of Paete town in Laguna, a place widely known for its wood
sculptures. The wooden image, which is garbed in heavy satin
cloak with its edges lined in pearls, was blessed by His
Eminence Jaime L. Cardinal Sin in very simple ceremonies
held at the Villa San Miguel on June 3.
The tour of the pilgrim image is part of the activities
of the Archdiocese of Manila for the Year of the Holy Rosary.
During the Fridays of May, the districts of the Archdiocese
held rosary pilgrimages to Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage
in Antipolo.
