CIRCULAR NO. 2010 – 06
February 16, 2010

TO:      ALL PARISH PRIESTS, SHRINE RECTORS, PARISH WORSHIP COORDINATORS, EMHC COORDINATORS IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF MANILA

RE:       ON-GOING FORMATION FOR EMHC

Dear Reverend Monsignori / Fathers, Brothers and sisters:

Church laws provide that “lay persons who devote themselves permanently or temporarily to some special service of the Church are obliged to acquire the appropriate formation which is required to fulfill their function properly.”  Lay liturgical ministers need and deserve ongoing formation in order to continue the process of learning and growing in ministry.

All lay liturgical ministers (EMHC, Lectors and Commentators, Altar Servers, Greeters and Collectors, Mother Butler Guild) of the Archdiocese of Manila are required to participate in the On-going Formation conducted by the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission.  This year’s formation is a follow-up and a deepening of our study of the Pastoral Letter of our Cardinal-Archbishop on the Sunday Eucharist entitled “Without Sunday, we cannot live” with emphasis to its challenges and mandate to particular ministries.

For APRIL, herewith is the schedule of the formation seminars for EMHC. This year, the groupings are by cluster of vicariates.  The seminar will be held on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord, Megamall, Mandaluyong City.  Please take note of the following:

April 10          :           Vicariates of Our Lady of Guadalupe;
St. John the Baptist;
St. Joseph the Worker;
Sts. Peter & Paul;
San Felipe Neri

April 17          :           Vicariates of Sta. Clara de Montefalco;
Holy Family;
Holy Spirit;
Nstra. Sra. De Guia
Transparochial Communities;

April 24          :           Vicariates of Our Lady of Loreto;
San Fernando de Dilao;
San Jose de Trozo;
Sto. Niño

  1. We will follow the Pre-registration procedures for our on-going formation. Parishes should submit their recommendation letter with the signatures of the members of the Evaluating Committee (Parish Priest, Worship Coordinator and Ministry Coordinator) and their corresponding registration fees a month before their scheduled on-going formation.
  2. Mark the date of the on-going formation seminar assigned to your vicariate. We discourage you from attending seminars assigned to other vicariates.
  3. We encourage you to take a heavy lunch before attending the ongoing formation. We also encourage you to bring snacks to avoid going to the different fast food stores to eat.  Be reminded also that we are not allowed to eat inside the chapel.  An area will be designated for eating.
  4. Please bring your corresponding IDs for scanning – for the purpose of attendance checking. No ID, no attendance with the exception of those who lost their ID’s due to the typhoons and flood.  Kindly indicate in the recommendation letters the names of those who lost their ID’s because of the aforementioned reason. New ID’s will be issued for them.
  5. You may also bring your jackets.
  6. Registration fee is Php. 150.00

Thank you very much for your steadfast support.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

FR. GENARO O. DIWA
Director
