RE:    PRAYER AND SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN HAITI (January 12, 2010)

Dear Reverend Monsignori/Fathers:

Greetings of Peace in the Lord!

We are deeply saddened by the recent earthquake that struck Haiti. Its city was laid wrecked and its people are in dire need of all possible humanitarian assistance.

As a concrete expression of our solidarity and sympathy, we request that a second collection be made in all Masses in parishes, shrines, and communities in the Archdiocese of Manila on Sunday, January 24, 2010 to help the victims of the tragedy. Please remit all collections to the Treasury Department as soon as possible so we can immediately send them to Haiti.

Let us continue to remember in our Masses and prayers those who lost their lives or are suffering in any way due to the earthquake in Haiti. Let us commend them to God’s merciful love.
