The campaign seeks to promote the celebration of one’s Baptismal Day alongside one’s yearly celebration of his/her Birthday or Natal Day.

The launching was highlighted with a special baptismal rite of 12 infants from poor families within Metro Manila.

Bishop Emeritus of Novaliches Teodoro Bacani, Jr., officiated the Sacrament of Baptism with Radio Veritas President and Caritas Manila Executive Director Fr. Anton CT Pascual.

According to Bishop Bacani, parents should not only provide their children with food. Parents should also feed them with the Word of God.

“Sa pagpapalaki sa kanila, hindi sapat ang gatas o kanin at ulam, ang kinakailangan ay ang mabuting balta ng ating panginoong Hesukristo ang ebanghelyo at ang inyong mabuting halimbawa at panalangin,” Bishop Bacani said.

Entertainment and celebrity personalities including comedian and Papal Awardee Ai-Ai de las Alas served as godparents.

According to the Veritas Truth Survey, only 57% of Filipino Catholics know their Baptismal day while 32% do not know the date of their Baptism. There are 11% who are unsure of their Baptismal date. (Jheng M. Prado / RCAM-AOC)
