Our History

In 1948, Bacood, site of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish, was a ‘sleepy little hamlet’ where only a few families, mostly Aglipayans, had settled. The handful of Catholics looked to Sacred Heart Parish in Sta. Mesa for spiritual ministration. The first mass was said that year, celebrated by Capuchin Father Gil de Lagaria, marked the beginning of the Catholic movement. In 1950 a chapel was built on a lot with funds raised, bolstered by the Arzobispado’s financial assistance, inspiring the more enterprising Catholics to perform some spiritual and corporal works.
